My Super Moody Berry Smoothie!


I love smoothies!! They are packed with vitamins, proteins and beneficial nutrients that you and your baby need. Of course, this all depends on how you are making them. If they have ice cream, milk and sugar they probably won’t do you much good on the nutrition side of things. (But they sure are tasty!)

I absolutely love this smoothie! While many other foods have made me sick, smoothies have been one of the most enjoyable pleasures I have had while being pregnant. In addition, if you are looking for an easy way to get quick nutrients for you and baby, you have come to the right place!

This deep purple smoothie has avocado in it which has many nutritional vitamins and benefits for baby. Avocados have even been rumored to have more benefits than a banana! Yay for baby and me!! Plus, if you dislike any kind of veggie this is a great way to sneak them into your diet.  You can barely taste the avocado or spinach in the smoothie!

This healthy smoothie will help energize you and can be a great breakfast item for kids! It is more on the semi-sweet side but its great for women who are pregnant or trying to loose/maintain weight. In addition, since I have been sensitive to dairy items on their own, this has been an awesome way for me to get dairy into my diet.

I forgot my avocado today but it ended up being thick and semi-sweet. You can use a banana instead of the avocado but I have taken them out of my own drink due to them triggering my acid reflux. Hope you enjoy!

My Super Moody Berry Smoothie

Prep time: 5-10 min

Ingredients:

  • 1/2-1 cup Almond milk (or regular milk)
  • 2oz. Ningxia Red (optional)
  • 1/3 cup Low-fat vanilla yogurt
  • 3-5 Strawberries
  • 4 Blackberries
  • 5-6 Raspberries
  • 1/2 Avocado or 1/2 Banana (for more sweetness)
  • 4-5 Spinach leaves
  • 2-4 Ice cubes
  • Honey to taste
  • Blend till smooth
  • Makes 1-2 cups

*Note: This smoothie has berries in it. This means there will be a lot of seeds. If you don’t like seeds then feel free to modify or add blueberries instead of Blackberries. 🙂

  1. This looks really good! I may try it even though I’m not pregnant 🙂 I used to have a smoothie for lunch every day the summer after 11th grade! I had just gotten my wisdom teeth out and needed something that didn’t require chewing (haha) and then I just kept up the habit of drinking them. Mine had strawberry yogurt, a banana, mixed berries, and a little bit of orange juice. 🙂
